Johor Bahru residential proxies with city targeting

Why use a Johor Bahru IP rather than one anywhere in Malaysia?

An IP chosen only by country can land anywhere in Malaysia; a Johor Bahru IP shows what this city sees. Compare ringgit-priced listings, delivery fees and property ads that Johor Bahru users see on Shopee, Lazada and property portals, useful for cross-border pricing checks against Singapore.

Johor Bahru is the main commercial centre for Johor and lies in the Indonesia-Malaysia-Singapore Growth Triangle. Neighbourhoods such as Larkin, Tebrau, Stulang and Danga Bay often get different delivery slots, prices and local results.

How do I connect through a Johor Bahru IP?

Put USERNAME-country-my-city-johor_bahru in the username field and connect to gw.banyanproxies.com, port 7777 for HTTP and HTTPS or 7778 for SOCKS5. Each new connection gets another Johor Bahru home IP; add a session ID and a duration to keep one. The city targeting page gives Python and Node.js versions.

# Rotating Johor Bahru IP over HTTP
curl -x http://gw.banyanproxies.com:7777 \
  -U "USERNAME-country-my-city-johor_bahru:PASSWORD" \

# One Johor Bahru IP kept for 10 minutes, over SOCKS5
curl --socks5-hostname gw.banyanproxies.com:7778 \
  -U "USERNAME-country-my-city-johor_bahru-session-joh1-ttl-10:PASSWORD" \

Which networks are behind Johor Bahru home IPs?

Home internet in Johor Bahru comes from providers including Unifi, Maxis Home Fibre, CelcomDigi Home Fibre and TIME Fibre. A residential IP carries the network number (ASN) of the ISP behind it. Nationally, TM's Unifi is the largest fixed broadband provider, with 3.229 million Unifi Home subscribers at 1Q FY2026; Maxis reported 813,000 home subscriptions at Q2 2026. To stay on one network, add -asn-4788 for TM Unifi; the ASN table lists the others.

Will websites place the IP in Johor Bahru?

Sites place an IP with their own geolocation database, and those databases can label a Johor Bahru home with a nearby place: Iskandar Puteri, Pasir Gudang or Kulai. Check the exit before a large job. Match the rest of the setup too: Johor Bahru runs on Asia/Kuala_Lumpur (UTC+08:00), and its phone numbers use 07.

Which local rules apply in Malaysia?

Using a residential proxy to view public pages is not, in itself, an offence in Malaysia; what matters is the use and the target's terms. Personal data falls under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Digital services sold into Malaysia carry 8% service tax on digital services from foreign providers since 1 March 2024. Prices on local sites are in Malaysian ringgit (MYR). This is not legal advice; see rules by country.
