Where Banyan Proxies residential IPs come from

What our upstream provider confirms, what we check ourselves, and the questions to ask any proxy seller.

Quick answer

Where do Banyan Proxies residential IPs come from?

Banyan Proxies resells residential and mobile IPs from established upstream partner networks. Our upstream provider confirms that device owners opt in and can opt out, and that its supply does not come from seized or disrupted networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online.

What does our sourcing look like in brief?

ModelReseller of established upstream partner networks
Device ownersOpt in and can opt out, as confirmed by our upstream provider
Excluded supplySeized or disrupted networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA, as confirmed by our upstream provider
IP countsNot published: availability changes by the hour and by city
Mobile portsDedicated ports are subject to stock per country and carrier; the checkout lists the carriers in stock. If we cannot deliver your port within 24 hours, its full price goes back to your balance

What does our upstream provider confirm?

Our upstream provider confirms that device owners opt in and can opt out, and that its supply does not come from seized or disrupted networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA. We do not name the provider: that is a commercial agreement, and the name would tell a buyer nothing they could check.

What can no reseller check by itself?

A reseller sees exit IPs and traffic, not the phones and routers behind them. It cannot audit each device owner's consent screen or count the devices online in a given city at a given minute. That is why we do not publish city IP counts, and why our pages say "city availability varies" rather than promising a pool size.

Why does supply differ between cities?

Residential IPs exist where people use the apps that carry the opt-in. Large cities with many home broadband lines, such as Mumbai, Jakarta or Sydney, usually have more devices online than smaller cities like Kandy or Siem Reap. Time of day matters too: a home in Manila at 4 a.m. local time is less likely to be online than at 8 p.m. That is why each city page tells you to check the exit city before a large job.

Which six questions should I ask any proxy seller?

QuestionOur answer
Who owns the devices, and did they agree?Device owners opt in and can opt out, as our upstream provider confirms
Is any supply from seized networks? Our upstream provider confirms it is not, naming NetNut and IPIDEA
Do you publish IP counts per city? No: they change by the hour, and we cannot check them
What do you log?Connection metadata for up to 30 days; never content or full URLs
What is blocked?Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587
Who handles abuse reports?A person, at [email protected]

Which policies cover the IPs you sell?

The Acceptable Use Policy lists what is blocked, the privacy policy what we log, and about who runs the service. Buyers who want no paperwork can read city proxies without KYC.

What else do buyers ask about sourcing?

Are your IPs from hacked devices or botnets?

Our upstream provider confirms that device owners opt in and can opt out, and that its supply does not come from seized or disrupted networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA. We would end the agreement if that changed.

Why don't you publish how many IPs you have in each city?

Because the number of home devices online in a city changes through the day and we cannot verify it ourselves. Published pool sizes are hard to check from outside. Test a city with the 1 GB plan for $1.88 instead.

What happens to traffic if a supplier is cut off?

Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them. If we ever stopped selling a product, we would give at least 30 days' notice to use the remaining traffic or move its value to another product.
