Does city targeting usually cost extra?
Seven of the eight providers state city targeting as part of their residential plans with no surcharge. DataImpulse is the exception: its documentation says traffic using the city parameter "is billed at double the standard rate", so its $1.00/GB base becomes $2.00/GB for city work. Its docs also say it cannot guarantee proxies from a specific city. Any price comparison for city work should use the city rate.
Which offers have the smallest per-GB prices, and on what terms?
Geonode's monthly plans, from $0.79/GB at 10 GB to $0.50/GB at 1 TB, are the lowest figures in this sample. They are subscriptions: traffic rolls over only while the plan runs, and Geonode asks for a government ID or a business registration for all accounts. Among prepaid offers that never expire, the 1 TB figures range from Rayobyte's $0.70/GB to DataImpulse's $1.60/GB city rate.
Why do small city tests cost the most?
At 1 GB, prices run from $2.50 (ProxyWing) to $7.35 (IPRoyal) among providers that sell a single GB; Geonode and DataImpulse do not sell one. A 1 GB test matters for city work, because the only way to know whether a target accepts a city's IPs is to try. Banyan Proxies's 1 GB plan costs $1.88.
Do published IP counts show what is online in a city?
Oxylabs lists 12,219,233 IPs for India and 6,522,418 for Indonesia on its location pages; IPRoyal lists 3,765,970 for India on its hub page and 1,765,970 on its India page. These are country totals that the providers do not break down by city in a verifiable way, and they count addresses seen over time, not devices online now. IPRoyal publishes city lists per country: 423 cities for India, 173 for Thailand and 125 for Indonesia. Banyan Proxies publishes no IP counts.
How was the index built?
We read each provider's own pricing and documentation pages on 18 October 2026, without logging in, and took the public self-service price for each volume. Coupons and first-order discounts were left out; displayed discounts that apply to everyone were kept and labelled. Where only a rate per GB was published, the total was computed. Providers whose pricing could not be read that day, or that price by credits, are not in the table. We do not include our upstream supplier. The table is re-read at least every 45 days.
How do I use this data when buying?
Compare the city-rate figures with our pricing and with the city targeting surcharge comparison. Rankings by region are in the best city proxies for Asia, and single-provider comparisons on the DataImpulse and IPRoyal pages. The official facts page lists our own figures in one place.
What else do readers ask about the index?
Which provider charges least for city-targeted proxies in Asia?
It depends on the volume and the conditions. In this sample, Geonode's monthly plans have the lowest per-GB figures from 10 GB, with ID required. Among prepaid, non-expiring offers, ProxyWing is lowest at 1 GB ($2.50) and Rayobyte at 1 TB ($0.70). We do not claim to be the cheapest at any volume.
Does city targeting cost more than country targeting?
At seven of the eight providers read on 18 October 2026, no. DataImpulse bills city-targeted traffic at double its standard rate. Banyan Proxies includes city and ASN targeting on every plan.
How often is this index updated?
At least every 45 days. The date of the last reading is at the top of each table.
Can I reuse this data?
Yes, with a link to this page. Prices change often: cite the date of the reading.
