Setup, city checks, sessions and local rules, written for city-level work in our 14 countries.

**Quick answer — Which city proxy guides should I read before buying?**

Start with the [city proxy trial guide](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/getting-started/): test any city with the 1 GB plan at $1.88, add `-country-<cc>-city-<city>` to the username, and check the exit city. Then read the [proxy city checker](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/), because databases disagree near city borders in Delhi NCR or Metro Manila.

## Which guides help me set up and target a city?

- **[City proxy trial](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/getting-started/)** — Test a city with 1 GB, set up the username, read common errors.
- **[City targeting syntax](https://banyanproxies.com/targeting/city/)** — The -city- segment, spelling rules and tested code in curl, Python and Node.js.
- **[ASN targeting in Asia](https://banyanproxies.com/targeting/asn/)** — 41 home-broadband ASNs checked on RIPEstat, and how to verify one.
- **[Sticky residential proxies](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions/)** — Keep one city IP for up to 30 minutes, and handle early changes.

## Which guides cover accuracy and local rules?

- **[Proxy city checker](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/)** — Compare lookups, ask the target, fix border mismatches.
- **[Residential proxy laws in Asia](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/proxy-rules-by-country/)** — Data protection laws and digital tax in our 14 countries.
- **[Price index 2026](https://banyanproxies.com/research/asia-city-proxy-price-index-2026/)** — What a city-targeted GB costs at 8 providers.
- **[Glossary](https://banyanproxies.com/glossary/)** — ASN, sticky session, geolocation and other terms.

## Which guide answers which question?

- *"Why does my Delhi IP show Gurugram?"*: [check a proxy's city](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/).
- *"How do I keep one IP for a checkout flow?"*: [sticky sessions](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions/).
- *"Which law applies to scraping prices in Thailand?"*: [rules by country](https://banyanproxies.com/guides/proxy-rules-by-country/).
- *"How do I pick the PLDT network in Manila?"*: [ASN targeting](https://banyanproxies.com/targeting/asn/).
- *"Which code library should I use?"*: [docs](https://banyanproxies.com/docs/), with curl, Python and Node.js samples.
- *"What do teams actually check by city?"*: [use cases](https://banyanproxies.com/use-cases/).

## Where else can I look?

Short answers are in the [FAQ](https://banyanproxies.com/faq/), code is in the [docs](https://banyanproxies.com/docs/), and terms are defined in the [glossary](https://banyanproxies.com/glossary/). Business examples are on the [use cases](https://banyanproxies.com/use-cases/) page, and the [home page](https://banyanproxies.com/) summarises the plans.

## What else do buyers ask about the guides?

### Are the code samples tested?

Every Python sample is compiled and every JavaScript sample is syntax-checked before publication. Replace USERNAME and PASSWORD with your own credentials.

### Is any of this legal advice?

No. The rules guide summarises public laws with links to their sources. Ask a lawyer about your own project.

### How often are guides updated?

When a fact they rely on changes, such as a law's commencement date or a price in the index. The date at the top of each guide shows the last update.
